Located just south of the Bridge of Lions, Davis Shores is a convenient and desirable community for many who live in St. Augustine. The area was developed by extensive filling of wetlands just after the Bridge of Lions was constructed in 1926-27. During World War II, homes were used as barracks for soldiers monitoring the coastline.
Regardless of what property prices are doing, Davis Shores stays in demand and appreciated for its proximity to downtown and the beaches of St. Augustine. Many waterfront homes in Davis Shores afford fabulous views of the Matanzas River and downtown. Others back to a canal that accesses the river. If waterfront isn’t in your immediate future, you’ll find other options ranging from small to large, old to new, expensive to affordable and everything in between.
